I think someone sent Lobocita a PM asking if she's still around, but here's another try at it.
If you're still here, could you delete the recent spam posts (like 'check this out' and 'ooooh')? Or could you pass moderatorship on to one of the more active members?
One can also vote in a new moderator if the old one can't be found. For some reason this particular spammer targets this tribe a lot, so it seems like we should consider getting someone with control over the 'delete ' button in here soon.

She might just not have her Tribe inbox messages go to her email, and it might be polite to wait a few more days. I think the first PM was a few days ago already. -

a) people travel for more than 2 weeks at a time -- not everyone cares to be on the internet (or on tribe) if they are away traveling!!!
b) sometimes shit happens with loved ones and real life takes over like a tiger in your kitchen!!
so I'd give it a month *at least*
...especially since spam doesn't really *hurt* anyone...you know?
just don't click on any of it!
you can smell spam a mile away anyhoo! -

Thanks for notification on facebook, that helped. I was last here in December, but since then the new year is bowling me over! Lots of new stuff going on.
Anyhoo, now I will be back and active on tribe.net. I still pay for my subscription and I sponsor at least one "gift" subscription. I am a devoted tribester, just got caught up in big bad career moves last year. That is over now, and I am back !
Made my first visit to Michael Levine's in over a year recently.... felt Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! Yes, I bought stuff, yes indeed!
Thanks for your patience, and I think I got rid of most of the spam. Will look into it more,
Also, as requestedm returned the tribe to private status for awhile....

If we're a private tribe, that means all of you need to go invite a few people, since they can't find it via search or 'related tribes' or whatnot. You can also do a 'moderated' status which just means that spammers/sex ad folks have to do a 'request to join' first, which usually discourages spam... -

Wed, February 24, 2010 - 1:31 PMcorrection: it is moderated. It is still listed as 3rd largest tribe, and is searchable under our search terms (crafts, hobbies, etc).
But I will have to approve membership. I have done this before, when we were in a major growth phase (went from 1500 to 4500 in 6months), so then I switched to public (with membership voting on this). But moderated is fine for now, we'll see how it goes.
